Some kilometers behind the monastery Evangelistrias you will reach the village Amalo. If you have a lot of luck the only tavern of the village is open and you can get something to eat and drink. If it is open you only must ask. After Amalo you drive across Kalamos and then you will arrive in an area which is very bizarre. The landscape seems almost to be made of rocks which looks round outward, but which are totally rugged inside. This landscape looks unattractive in the first view, but is has its own appeal.
When you arrive at a rubbish tip, you can see a big rock on the right side, in which you can go inside. The rubbish tip where the rock is on, is surrounded with a fence, but you can enter it through a gate. Go inside, lay down on one of the big rocks and be quiet. Then you perhaps will understand what I mean and what is very difficult to describe with words. In this area the wind blows very strong the most of the time and it howls in the holes of the rocks. If you let your fantasy flow, you can develope some scripts for best horror movies.
After the 'Rockdesert' of Kalamos you will arrive the fishing village Karkinagri. There you will find a tavern and a periptero (kiosk). The people there are friendly but reserved.
